- The Fee
- The ₹100 one-time Application & Aptitude Screening fee, inclusive of all taxes.
- NAF ID
- The NAF ID issued to your application in the format NAF followed by six digits. It is an identifier and never a login credential or a password.

02Scope and acceptance
These terms govern your use of this site and your application through it. By submitting an application or paying the Fee you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not apply.
These terms cover the application and screening stage only. They do not create any contract between you and any Maritime Training Institute, any shipping company, or any employer. Admission to an MTI, course fees and any employment are governed separately by that institute or employer and by their own terms.
If you are under 18, apply with the knowledge and involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.
03Eligibility, and the effect of false information
The indicative GP Rating parameters published on this site — qualification, marks, English, age bands by category and gender, height, BMI, eyesight and DG Shipping medical fitness — are the criteria against which readiness is assessed. They vary by course and by MTI, and category relaxations and alternate 12th, ITI and Diploma routes may apply.
You confirm that every detail you submit is true, complete and your own.
False or misleading information voids your application. If we find that a material detail is false — identity, age, qualification, marks, category or contact details — the application and any screening result attached to it are void with immediate effect, the Fee is not refunded, and we may decline future applications from you. We will tell you the reason.
04Registration and your NAF ID
Your record is created and your NAF ID is issued at the review-and-consent step, before any payment. An application that is created but not paid for remains valid and can be completed later using the link sent to you.
Your mobile number is your identity
The registered mobile number you supply is the credential for this ecosystem. You sign in to the official HBIMS mobile app with that number and a one-time password sent to it. You will never be asked to sign in with your NAF ID, and nobody legitimate will ever ask you for your OTP.
Because the number is the identity, a wrong digit means you do not receive your updates. Check it before you submit and tell the counsellor immediately if it needs correcting.
The NAF ID is quoted on your receipt, in support correspondence and by agents locating your record. It is not secret and it is not a password.
05What the ₹100 covers
The Fee is ₹100, one time, inclusive of all taxes. It covers, and only covers:
- Processing of your application and verification of the details submitted;
- Generation and evaluation of your Aptitude Screening;
- Creation of a verified candidate record against your NAF ID;
- Allotment of a screening slot in the current screening cycle;
- Issue of an instant, numbered, tax-inclusive receipt.
The Fee is not part of, and is not adjusted against, any course fee. Course fees are set and collected by the MTI, separately, and are outside these terms.
Every rupee is collected against an official receipt through the banking channel. We do not accept cash in any circumstance. If any person asks you for cash, for a transfer to a personal account, or for a payment without a receipt, that person is not acting for the Foundation.
06Non-guarantee — read this clause in full
The Fee guarantees nothing beyond the screening itself
Payment of the Fee does not guarantee, promise or secure: admission to any course or institute; a seat in any batch; sponsorship by any shipping company; employment, placement or a job of any kind; a visa; a particular screening result; or any medical finding.
The Aptitude Screening is a structured readiness check. It produces a written record of where you stand and what to prepare. It does not decide your eligibility, it does not qualify or disqualify you, and nobody is rejected by it. Any person or page describing it otherwise is describing something else.
The screening is one step in a multi-stage, documented framework that leads towards admission at DG Shipping-approved Maritime Training Institutes. Later stages, including medical fitness, document verification and the institute's own admission process, are decided by parties other than us and are outside our control.
Medical fitness is certified independently by a DG Shipping-approved medical examiner. We do not influence, and cannot influence, that finding.
07Your obligations as an applicant
- One application per person. Duplicate applications made by the same person may be merged or cancelled. Where a duplicate results in a double charge, see the Refund & Cancellation policy.
- No proxy at the screening. The screening must be attempted by you personally. A screening attempted by anyone else on your behalf voids the record and the Fee is not refunded.
- Keep your registered mobile number and email address current, and tell us promptly if either changes.
- Do not share your OTP with anyone, including anyone claiming to be from the Foundation.
- Supply documents that are genuine and that match the details in your application.
08Screening conduct, rescheduling and disqualification
The screening is taken in the official HBIMS mobile app, in one sitting, within the cycle allotted to you. Attempt it somewhere quiet with a working connection.
Rescheduling. If a genuine technical failure or a documented emergency prevents you from attempting your slot, write to support@maritimeaspirant.com quoting your NAF ID and we will reschedule you within the same or the next cycle. Reschedule requests are considered [NUMBER OF RESCHEDULES PERMITTED: TO BE CONFIRMED].
Disqualification. A screening record is void where there is impersonation, proxy attempt, use of another person's credentials, or deliberate manipulation of the app or the assessment. The Fee is not refunded in these cases.
09Communications consent
By ticking the consent box you agree to be contacted about your application on the mobile number and email address you supply, by SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, email and voice call, including through automated systems, by the Foundation and by counsellors acting for it.
This consent covers application updates, screening information, batch and intake information, payment and receipt matters, and counselling calls relating to your application. The date and time of your consent are recorded against your NAF ID.
You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to support@maritimeaspirant.com. Withdrawing consent stops further contact and, because we cannot then reach you about your own application, it will normally end the active application. It does not, by itself, entitle you to a refund of the Fee where the screening has already been activated.
If your number is registered on the National Do Not Call registry, your consent here is a specific commercial consent that permits us to contact you about this application.
10Intellectual property and prohibited use
All content on this site — text, layout, design, illustration, iconography, seals, the HBIMS-NAF&SA™ mark and the framework itself — belongs to the Foundation or is used by it with permission, and is protected by Indian copyright and trade mark law.
You may not copy, republish, scrape, resell, or create derivative works from this site or from any screening content, nor use the HBIMS or HBIMS-NAF&SA™ names or marks, without written permission.
You may not attempt to interfere with the site, the payment flow or the screening, nor use any automated system to submit applications.
11Limitation of liability and force majeure
Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including liability for fraud.
Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, the Foundation's total liability arising out of or in connection with your application is limited to the amount of the Fee you actually paid.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of an intake, loss of opportunity or loss of earnings.
We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disaster, epidemic, war, civil unrest, strike, failure of a payment gateway, telecommunications or internet failure, power failure, or any act, regulation or direction of a government or regulatory authority.
12Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an application, and decline future applications, where these terms are breached, where information is false, where there is impersonation or proxy at the screening, where there is abuse of our staff or systems, or where we are required to do so by law or by a regulator.
You may stop your application at any time by writing to support@maritimeaspirant.com. The refund position is set out in the Refund & Cancellation policy.
13Amendments
We may amend these terms. The current version is always the one published on this page, with its effective date shown at the top. Where a change materially affects applicants with an active application, we will tell those applicants by email to the address on their record.
Applying, or paying the Fee, after a change takes effect means you accept the amended terms.
14Governing law, jurisdiction and grievances
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at [CITY / STATE OF JURISDICTION: TO BE CONFIRMED BY CLIENT] have exclusive jurisdiction.
Grievances. Write to support@maritimeaspirant.com with your NAF ID, order ID and a description of the issue. We acknowledge within [ACKNOWLEDGEMENT WINDOW] and respond substantively within [RESOLUTION WINDOW]. If you are not satisfied, escalate to the Grievance Officer named in the Privacy Policy.
